Depending on experience the successful candidate may be responsible for posting charges from super bills, entering charges, following up on claims as well as internal coding worksheets. All employee assignments or positions offered are entry level and will lead to future management considerations.  

Job Responsibilities may include/require:

• Strong customer service and computer skills.
• Demonstrate good verbal communication skills. 
• Recognize ICD-9 and CPT coding mistakes.
• Maintain 98% production standard for data entry.
• Understand the proper use of modifiers.
• Complete work in a timely and accurate manner. 
• Knowledge of medical terminology and concepts.
• File or route source documents after entry. 
• Ability to quickly learn the Billing System.
• Post payments and Adjustments according to EOB’s 
• Functional accounting/math principles.
• Understand and audit EOB’s. 
• Perform quality assurance for charges and compliance.
• Coding/Appeals (must have a minimum of 3 years directly coding Ortho or Neuro
• Payment Posting with ability to review & balance multiple deposits. 
• Strong Medi-Cal back ground
• Ability to type 50+wpm or 10,000 ksph with little to no error. 
• Other duties or projects may be assigned to meet business needs.
• Billing and Charge Entry (coding experience is a plus; CPC, CPC-A, etc.)
• Collections/Follow-up/A/R Management
• Also possible Medi-Cal Project (Part time of full time, depending on availability of applicant).
• 2+ years experience with Orthopedic or Neuro
• The minimum education required for this position is a High School diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of /or Allscripts is highly regarded!!
• Experience with HCFA/ UB-04 forms and familiarity with ICD9 & CPT4 codes is a must.
